smokey eye makeup tips

Women feel when it comes to makeup one of the hardest things to do is a smokey eye. And so they don’t do them.  Well ladies, with the right smokey eye tips, you too can do it.

It will take a little practice, however. You usually never get it right on the first try, but I’m going to try to help you with that. Because you’re doing a smokey eye, it doesn’t mean you have to do it in black.

You can choose whatever color you wish to choose from. A blue or green will work just as beautifully. The smokey eye has always been associated with sexy, sultry, seductress.

All the things we women want to be. So choose your favorite color palette and let’s begin with learning on how to do a smokey eye. It’s not as hard as you think.

The first thing you want to do is prep your eye for the makeup with some primer by applying it all over your eyelid so that one, your smokey eye doesn’t travel and smear and two, it’ll last all night.

It would completely blow if you try really hard and achieve your perfect smokey eye look, just to have it ruined and have it running down your face in less than 2 hours. So this is an important step.

Next, you want to use a concealer for under your eyes. Try Sheer Cover Studio Concealer. When you’re trying to make a smokey eye effect, the last thing you want is dark circles.

So brighten up the under eye area with the concealer so that the smokey eye gets the attention it deserves. You’ll see that this little bit goes a long way.

Next, you want to sweep the darkest color in your palette, try Shany Pro Eyeshadow Palette or the color of your choice, it can be plum, gray, you can be creative, from your lashes to the crease of your eye.

The edges should be softly blended. A smokey eye shouldn’t have any harsh or stern lines. You can use a smudger brush or you can even use a Q-tip and lightly buff the shadow into the crease of your eye. You can also work the color into your lower lash line as well.

Now that you have applied your color and its in place, the next thing you want to do is to get a creamy black waterproof eyeliner and drag it along the top and bottom of your lash lines.

You can also apply it in your inner bottom lash line. This will give your eyes that sexy, sultry look in my opinion. It gives your eyes a cat-like look. Its perfect for the smokey eye.

Next, you’re going to want to want to highlight now that you’ve done so much of the dark work. Blend a shimmery highlighter along your brow bone and over the inner v corner of your eyes.

This will brighten up certain parts of the eye that have nothing to do with the smokey work that you’re doing. At this point, you’ll really see the smokey eye starting to come out.

Before you apply mascara, get yourself an eyelash curler. Long curled eyelashes is an absolute must when doing a smoking eye. It’s an important step. Try using Brilliant Beauty Eyelash Curler.

Take your eyelash curler and clamp it at the base of your lashes holding it down for about 10 seconds. Keep repeating this process and you’ll see lashes starting to curl.

And at last, one of the most important steps is to apply mascara. Use a volumizing mascara like 3D Fiber Lash Mascara. It is absolutely necessary so that you can have long, wispy, beautiful lashes. This step ties in the whole smokey eye.

Well ladies, if you follow these simple steps, you can have a great smokey eye in no time. My advice is to take time to practice the steps.

They may feel a little overwhelming at first, but I promise you that it is much easier than it seems. So take your time and you’ll be a pro in no time.

Really? I always thought that Smokey eye is in black. Glad I came across your post 🙂 I get to learn something new today. I love make up especially eye shadows. However, I have no confidence in putting because I have these small Asian eyes and it is so hard to put the eye shadow that will look good on me. I mostly use the eyeliner and that’s it. Mascara is so hard for me as well since I have this little short eyelashes…. I wanna cry. I still cannot find the right mascara for me just yet, it’s always clumpy and just put my lashes together in a big weird shape.

There is still hope though. I am going to keep trying what you have suggested and just gonna keep on trying. Thanks for the tips 🙂

My eyes are shaped very similar to Asian eyes. When I was growing up my nickname was china! You could absolutely wear eyeshadow, you just need to use a smaller brush, like a blending brush. And with the mascara, try using 3D and 4D types. They work amazingly without clumping.
