Do your makeup like a professional > with simple little tricks

I don’t know about you, but I was not the best at applying makeup when I first started wearing it. I mean real makeup, not just the simple lipstick and mascara routine, although that’s all I knew.

I mean applying primer and foundation, contouring and highlighting, bases for eyeshadow, that kind of makeup. But I love makeup, always have. So I was determined to learn, and I did.

And it was easier than I thought. So I’m going to share with you some simple tips so that you don’t have to say “I won’t wear it because I don’t know how”.

Which is what happens with a lot of women. But some things are not for everybody. You may not wear certain makeup’s because you simply don’t like them, or you just don’t need to.

Wear what you feel looks best on you. But don’t not try something and want to wear it. Give it a try. Every woman should try everything at least once.

We’ve all seen someone with fabulous makeup and have thought, hmm wish I could do that. Well, You Can! It’s not as hard as you may think it is. Once you have tried it a couple of times, it’ll be like second nature.

So here are a few tips and tricks that you can add to your daily routine. Some you may already know, and some may be new to you.

One of the very first things you should do is invest in good makeup tools. This will a wise investment if you wear makeup on a daily basis.

  1. Before applying makeup be sure to moisturize. This preps your skin for smooth makeup application. Foundation goes on better this way.
  2. After applying primer, use a loose powder before you apply foundation. This way your makeup will last much longer throughout the day.
  3. Use a beauty blender sponge to apply foundation. Sometimes when you use a brush, it’s possible to make lines throughout the foundation.
  4. Apply bronzer, blush, and highlighter under your foundation to create a glow from “within”.
  5. Use thin small strokes for natural looking eyebrows. Don’t use a heavy hand or a color that is not close to your own.
  6. Secret tip- use castor oil to grow out over-plucked brows. Ricinoleic acid and Omega-9 fatty acid nourish the hair and help with growth. This is for eyelashes as well. Apply a few drops every night and watch them grow.
  7. Apply lipstick in layers. Apply, blot, apply again, blot. This will take some of the oil out letting your lipstick last longer.
  8. When applying mascara, wiggle the wand along the base of your eyelashes sort of in a zigzag motion and then pull through to the tips of your lashes. This will add length.
  9. For cat eye or a winged looked, instead of killing yourself trying to get it perfect, use a stamp. It makes the perfect winged look every time.
  10. Once you’ve completed your look, apply a finishing spray to ensure that your makeup will last all day.

Putting on makeup can be such a fun thing. It really doesn’t have to be such a hard task for you that you give up or don’t even bother trying.

Just remember to keep it simple and try to not over complicate things. Another suggestion would be for you to practice. If you practice a couple of times you’ll get it.

Believe me, if I can do it ANYBODY can do it. I’m a right arm amputee but a do my makeup like its nobody’s business. Want to know how, I practiced.

And I practiced hard. It took a while for me, I’m not going to lie. But I took my time and played with different makeup products until I got what works for me.

And you can totally do the same. I wouldn’t tell you that if I didn’t believe it was true.

So get your makeup game on. I only listed a few tips, but if you go through my other posts, you’ll see a ton more. Because I love makeup.

And I want you to love it too.
